When I heard the weather report I hoped we’d get the kind of snow that let us close schools and ski down our streets. The last time it was like that here was about 15-20 years ago. I packed a backpack with wine and Girl Scout cookies and holed up with a few friends. (Remember that day Chrissy Pupster?) One of those really good days.
So….I e-mailed a few people with vineyards locally to ask for photos of snow, if there truly was any, on their vines. I am still hoping to see pictures from Agua Dulce and Castaic winemakers but this one came in first.
Acton. DiMaggio Washington’s Rancho Santiago Vineyards. And a quote that simply read, “my day today”. And then, when I queried him for further details, “MY BACK YARD. ABOUT 4-5 INCHES OF SNOW SO FAR”.
I let it go at that as I would bet DiMaggio and my friends at Agua Dulce Vineyards and Two Hearts Vineyards are up to their ankles. And all for wine!
