Help the SCV YMCA at a Wine Tasting (of course!)

I met SCVian Larry M. on Yelp – and you can too as he does many local reviews. When he sent me an invite to his fundraiser I just wanted to help maximize his efforts by posting it here. If you are able to attend, great, if not, tell a friend:

Support the YMCA in an evening of light appetizers, expert guided wine tasting and a raffle for a 2005 Stag’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. Saturday 6-6-09 from 7-10 pm at a private residence in North Valencia. $25 -$26 (paypal) per person. As you may know, I am involved with the Y Guides program at our Santa Clarita Valley YMCA. What you may not know is that the YMCA is a non-profit organization and also provides services to people in need. Many of the programs are funded partially with donations along with membership dues. No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. This allows the Y to send kids to camp, provide exercise programs to the elderly and child care to single working parents.

As part of our annual campaign, our “tribe” is holding a fundraiser in the form of a wine tasting event. Money raised from this event will be donated to our local YMCA, 100% of the money donated stays in our valley. Space is limited; if you want to attend, please act fast. To ensure we have an accurate head count; you will have to register and prepay for the event. You can do this by sending me a check (made payable to cash or YMCA) or you can pay via credit card. Just let me know and I will help you get registered.

The event will be a good time, and make for a nice evening out. Along with the wine, we will be serving light appetizers. If you know nothing about wine, this will be a great opportunity to learn. I will be acting as our sommelier for the event, and will be there to pour and answer questions anyone has. We are planning on pouring some awesome wines from all over the world. It will be a fun night to relax!

PS: We can accommodate a maximum of about 75 people, so when we are full, that is it. As stated, we will be pouring 5 wines. We will have other wine available for purchase by the glass.
