April will be a special month for us at Pourtal. Our 1-year anniversary is on April 29th! Pourtal is having a contest to come up with a great way to celebrate with you, and the winner of the best concept will receive a $50 tasting card!!!
April also marks Earth Day. And, to celebrate, Pourtal is very proud to present our EcoWinery Tasting Tour featuring 16 wines from around the world that take the extra step towards sustainable winemaking. (Starting April 5th)
Several Eco-friendly Winemaker events will be held throughout the month to honor our theme.

Thursday, April 8th An evening with Alma Rosa. (arrive anytime between 7-9pm):
Alma Rosa has received many accolades for being one of the oldest California wineries to practice sustainable and organic farming. Help us kick-off our Eco-Wineries Tasting Tour with one of the first! Alma Rosa partner, Robert Szerwo, will be pouring their latest releases and discuss their winemaking philosophy. (wines and pricing TBA, usually between $10 to $15 for several tastings.)
Wednesday, April 21st Special Eco-event with Whole Foods Market Santa Monica and Ampellos Winery (arrive anytime between 7-9pm):
Come enjoy delicious specialty food & wine from Whole Foods Market Santa Monica & Pourtal Wine Bar. Meet the winemaker from Ampelos Cellars & Vineyard! ($20 for food and wine tasting.)
Thursday, April 22nd Earth Day Celebration with Frog’s Leap Winery (arrive anytime between 7-9pm):
Frog’s Leap Winery will be pouring some very special wine from their Solar Powered, Leed Certified, GeoThermal, Dryfarmed Winery (whew!) Help us celebrate Earth Day and toast to mother nature!
Tuesday, April 27th Food & Wine Pairing Salon with Helena (arrive anytime between 7-8.30pm) This month’s theme “Eco Wineries”:
Curious about the who’s what’s and why’s of food & wine pairing? Come and enjoy a special tasting flight with your wine educator, Helena, explaining the art & science of pairing in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. ($20 includes a flight of pairings and individualized instruction from Helena)

Wednesday, May 5th Wine Woof Wednesday:
Our Complimentary dogwalking is back, starting May 5th and recurring every first Wednesday of the month through September. Bring your best friend and our professional dogwalker, Big Sky Dogs, will take him/her for a walk while you enjoy our food and wine. Or just relax on our dog-friendly, ocean-view patio anytime!
