Your comments, My wine

“Why the big hassle on making comments on eve wine 101?  Have a happy…Lew”

Lew, and you, e-mail me your comments.  Or you see the link on Facebook and comment there.  Or you call me.  Or you respond to the Dear Wine Friend newsletter.  I know you’re out there as I get a nice stat counter of all your voyeurism.  It drives me to drink.  (More on that below.)

When I wrote about alcoholics following me I got more e-mails than expected.  I understood that one as the average query was…”Did you mean me?”  Presumably not something you want to leave as a comment on this blog for everyone to see.  (Even though you can leave a comment anonymously on this blog too.)

I put up little boxes to check under each blog post (that look like the “like” buttons on Facebook) as well as “read more” tabs to make reading easier – and more interactive.

Today, because of Lew, I got rid of the “word identification” so even the spammers can get through if I okay their comments.  As my ego is so demanding, I just might.

So, those of you reading this in my own hometown, and those of you that my stat counter shows are reading this in Russia, Japan, Germany, England, Italy, France, Nigeria, Spain, Hong Kong, Sweden, Turkey, Australia and the rest of my own United States – I’m talking to you!

Or, I will stealthily continue to go through my cellar without you.  Not like I was sharing before this, but it feels like I am.  I have ten year old Brunellos that Wine Spectator says are ready to drink, Bordeaux just waiting for the next Filet Mignon with Eddie’s wine reduction sauce to pair with, Domaine de Canton Ginger Martinis and Tomintoul single malt Scotch.  All sans you.  (Except the Charles Smith Eve Chardonnay I tried earlier this week, you can have that one, not going to grace my lips again.)

Eve of Destruction was my column header for many years in our local newspaper.  And here she is again rearing her ugly head.  Though, as my new artwork shows (Thank you Daniel Sobolevskiy reading from New York and Croatia!) I will continue to devilishly tease you on all things wine.

And, maybe getting the last word in on it is just…meant…to be!
