SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL 
OF GREATER SANTA CLARITA VALLEY 
ANNOUNCE 3RD ANNUAL WINE AFFAIR 
AND ADD EXCITING VIP SPONSOR RECEPTION

Santa Clarita, CA–Sip, Stroll and Savor the sounds at the Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley’s 3rd Annual Wine Affair. The event will take place on Sunday, October 17 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., along Town Center Drive in the Westfield Valencia Town Center in Valencia.

A combination of 8 to 10 restaurants, retailers and wine stores on Town Center Drive are expected to participate. Confirmed participants include: Salt Creek Grille, Bella Sport, The Vines Restaurant and Valencia Wine Company.  In addition, Vino 100 Valencia, Wine 661 and Pulchella Wines will pour at designated locations. Mojito Cuban Cuisine will provide food at Valencia Wine Company. Each venue features wine tasting, food and musical entertainment. Venues will be spaced within walking distance of each other to allow for a comfortable stroll.


Robert Gandara of Secure Horizons has joined us again this year as our Title Sponsor. Gandara, a “Soroptimister’ and husband of active Soroptimist member, Darlene Gandara shares the club’s enthusiasm for this event. “Barrel Club” sponsorships are still available at $1000. To date, barrel Club Sponsors include: SCV Bank, Status Not Quo, Shelley and G. Marshall Hann and Old Republic Title.
A VIP Reception and “Celebrity Chef’s of SCV”, for Sponsors will be held at the home of Shelley and G. Marshall Hann on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 6:30pm.  “This year we are excited to add something more for our sponsors” said Jo Ann Vindigni, who is co-chairing the event along with Tamra Levine, Sheryl Geraci, Dora Zavala, Darlene Gandara, Shelley Hann, Tora Brown and Pam Capistrano.


 October is breast cancer awareness month and this fundraiser fits in with the Soroptimist International of the Americas, Camino Real Region “Color Me Pink and Purple Campaign”.  A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center on the campus of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital to help women who are unable to afford detection services.  In the past years of the event we have donated $5,000 and $10,000 respectively.

Event tickets will be available at $40 in advance; $50 the day of the event. This event is limited to participants ages 21 and over.
