WALLY’S RALLIES WINERIES AND CHEFS FOR MICHAEL BONACCORSI SCHOLARSHIP


WHAT:  Wally’s 8th Annual Central Coast Wine & Food Celebration with renowned Los Angeles and Santa Barbara chefs and Central Coast vintners, all of whom  influenced and inspired by the talents of Michael Bonaccorsi.
§  The finest restaurants of Southern and Central California. Confirmed to date are: Frank Ostini showcasing the art of grilling on his traveling Santa Maria Barbecue pit from The Hitching Post II; Osteria and Pizzeria Mozza by Nancy Silverton and Matt Molina; La Brea Bakery; Spago Beverly Hills; CUT; Lucques/A.O.C./Tavern; Gelato Bar and the Hungry Cat.  Featured from the best of the Central Coast are: Bouchon/The Wine Cask; Artisan; Pasolivo; Brothers’ Restaurant at Mattei’s Tavern and Full of Life Flatbread from Los Alamos. Joining for the first time is Mezze, the new contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant in West Hollywood.
§  Scheduled to appear are a wine lover’s paradise of nearly 60 wineries from the best of California’s prized Central Coast. Among the confirmed wineries are Au Bon Climat; Qupé; Hitching Post Wines; Alma Rosa; Core; Demetria; Dierberg; Field Recordings; Foxen; Jaffurs; Malibu Family; Talbott Tantara; Torero and Whitcraft with more to be announced soon.
§  Silent auction will include exclusive travel packages including a week-long fabulous vacation home on Martha’s Vineyard.

WHO:               Recipient of the 2011 Michael Bonaccorsi Scholarship at U.C. Davis’ Department of Viticulture and Enology will appear to meet vintners and guests.

WHY:                Over 500 guests will help to raise over $50,000 for the Michael Bonaccorsi Scholarship Fund at U.C. Davis’ School of Viticulture and Enology and Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. The scholarship was developed by the Bonaccorsi family in response to the overwhelming reaction of friends and wine professionals interested in creating a lasting memorial to the man who generously shared his knowledge and talents throughout his brilliant, yet tragically short career.  The Central Coast Wine & Food Celebration is the primary source of funding for this meaningful scholarship.
