I met people from Break the Cycle a few years ago, at a private locally-held event, and learned about what they are working to accomplish. By educating young people about abusive relationships, via school lectures, their hope is to “Break the Cycle” of domestic abuse.
“At Break the Cycle, we work every day to prevent abuse. Cooking for Love inspires our entire community to celebrate healthy relationships with us.” Marjorie Gilberg, Executive Director of Break the Cycle.
This was the third time I was invited to attend “Cooking for Love” as media, and, as I don’t get to go to many foodie events, I love this one. Here was an opportunity for many guests to try fare they have never had before. And though I visited many tables, and did enjoy wine as well, the pics I chose to share were the highlights for me. (But a note on the wine: Shai Cellars was my favorite, followed by Martian Ranch and Vineyard and Le Grande Courtage.

“They raised $50K in the raffle, the silent auction and the regular auction, and a donor who didn’t want any spotlight added another $25K when they reached the $50K mark. It was amazing!” Denise Lowe, Event Sommelier.
Thanks for the coverage, Eve. It was an honor to be associated with everyone on this amazing team. The food and wine rocked. DJ Danny Farrell kept everyone moving. And the guests all behaved admirably! Truly a wonderful event.
It was an honor to be invited, I welcome marketing anything wine related – but having an event benefit such a worthwhile cause is twofold! You did an excellent job Denise!
