Chef 101: “Eve’s Smooth Delight” is Tested Along with Two more New Deep Pink Passions

Eve’s Smooth Delight created by Sommelier Greorgy Alonzo and his pal, Medea.

Ingredients:

1-2 ounces of grape vodka. (Medea selected Marani Saperavi)

1 1/2 ounces of pomegranate juice

1 teaspoon of of St. Germain liqueur

1 splash of sparkling wine. Medea’s selected Bagrationi 1882 Brut

1 orchid blossom

Directions:

Stir all the ingredients over ice to chill. Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass

Top with a splash of sparkling wine

Garnish with a Sonya Orchid

My Comment to my namesake cocktail:  How nice to be thought of while not in the company of others – drinking.  I love St. Germain elderflower liqueur, usually with sparkling wine and a little sparkling water.  I wish I had the same grape vodka and sparkling wine on hand that my pals did…I made it with Tito’s vodka (of course) and a cremant I found at the nickel sale at Bev Mo: Toques et Clochers Crement de Limoux.

Anyhoo – I LOVED this drink.

Which then inspired me to make more pink drinks:

Chambord Lemonade

Ingredients: 1 ½ ounces vodka (Tito’s All-American), ½ ounces Chambord, 3 Ounces Trader Joe’s Pink Lemonade

Directions: In an old-fashioned glass, fill with ice, all ingredients, stir and serve.

Comments:Very refreshing and light, good as an aperitif.

Eve’s Pinked Ice

Ingredients: Chambord, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice, vodka.

Directions: In an old-fashioned glass, fill with ice, all ingredients, stir and serve.

Comments: Orange juice cut the sweetness of the Chambord, tasted like a Big Stick Popsicle.  Nice on a hot day.
