I first discovered the Moscow Mule while in Moscow’s “hipster heartland,” Red October. I stopped off for a quick one in the newly opened Podutsky Cafe and Bar. The head bartender, Anastasia Dezhnyova, and I immediately hit it off. That night, over several Moscow Mules we became steadfast friends.
This drink was traditionally served in a copper mug. Back in the 80’s, my friends mom had copper mugs that had logos on them with the words ‘Moscow Mule.’ We always used to buy Cock ‘n Bull brand ginger beer for the mixer. They had the drink recipe printed on the bottle.
