I made three complete turns around the display of Daily’s Frozen cocktails before finally picking one up. I figured it was research. All of the frozen pouch selections at my local Ralph’s, including Margarita, Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada and Lemonade, were only made with wine and boasted (or tried to downplay?) that each 10 ounce pouch had less than 5 percent alcohol. I was attracted, somewhat, to the simplicity of it. I could have this one, the Frozen Lemonade, and then have something else later if I so desired…
My only point of reference were some of the Sake martinis I had in the past, and most, though not hitting the high alcohol mark, had inspired flavors and proved to be quite tasty.
I made my decision, and made my purchase.
Once at home, I popped my pouch into the freezer and then picked a night to enjoy when my hubby wasn’t around to tease me about it…or share any of it either.
The taste was flat, worse than just a plain lemonade from a fast-food restaurant’s vending machine. The slushy quality was nice, but not for home where I don’t use a straw to drink a beverage. I guess I could have doctored it up with one of the many items in my liquor cabinet, but I didn’t think that was the point. Why not make something from scratch if it were?
I may, if my mood strikes me again, try another flavor. But most likely, not. My suggestion would be that if you like a light in alcohol beverage, that is also light in flavor, this is for you. And, dear reader, if you’ve had any of the other flavors or other Daily’s products that you happened to have liked – let me know. I do love to test everything most things!
