Needing to Get Away and Have Some Fun?

June 3, 2013 by evebushman

Is your life getting too hectic and stressful?  Do you need to take a break and get away from all your responsibilities and just have some fun?  Here is a recipe for a remedy that you will want to try!  Take some delicious food prepared by great chefs, a glass of fine wine or ice cold premium beer, a beautiful setting like Lake Casitas, live music and a dance floor to work off your stress, a silent auction to build up your excitement, a boat ride on the lake to melt your worries away and a lovely selection of craft vendors to shop till your heart’s content, combine all the ingredients together and you have a VIP Ticket to the 27th Annual Ojai Wine Festival on June 9th, 2013 at Lake Casitas Recreation Area from 12-4 pm. (Full winery list below.)

viplounge2The VIP Lounge is perfect for wine, beer or spirits connoisseurs and “foodies” alike. The large canopy tent is set back on the lakefront with an open view to take in the natural beauty of the lake where patrons can unwind and relax.  VIP’s are greeted with a sparkling glass of Barefoot Bubbly.  Once you arrive in the VIP Lounge, delight in a delectable selection of hors d’oeuvres served by Cabot Cheese Cooperative, Whole Foods Market, Sakura Ojai Japanese and La Piu Bella Tavola Italian Catering. Pair your yummy hors d’oeuvres with a wonderful selection of fine wines served by the glass featured by Law Estate Wines, Silver Wines, Bianchi Winery, Huge Bear Wines, Hitching Post Wines and Margerum Winery.  Or if you prefer beer, try an ice-cold glass of Belgian style draft Stella Artois, Leffe or Hoegaarden served in specially designed souvenir beer glass that brings out the unique character of each beer. After all that food, wine or beer you can quench your thirst with Sparkling ICE waters. Then, for the “pièce de résistance”, sample from a superior selection of spirits from Rémy Martin Cointreau USA and Patrón Spirits Company. Ah!  Devine!

Tickets are limited in this special area of the festival.  VIP Admission ($100 presale and $125 event day) includes exclusive entry into the VIP Lounge, a fine crystal souvenir wine glass, unlimited tastes of wine and beer in the Main Tasting Area plus early entry beginning at 11:30 am.  VIP Non-Drinking tickets, which include all the benefits of VIP drinking admission except alcohol consumption, are $50 presale and $75 event day. You must be over 21 years old to enter the VIP Lounge, no children are allowed. General Admission tickets are also available for $45 pre-sale or $50 on event day and include unlimited tasting of beer and wine in the Main Tasting Area where you can shop at the food and craft vendors, dance to live music by Sgt. Pepper or Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries, bid on the Silent Wine Auction or take a free boat ride on the Rotary Floating Classroom.

You can purchase your tickets at The Attitude Adjustment Shoppe located at the “Y” intersection in Ojai, at Reid’s Appliances in Ventura or Santa Barbara, or online at www.OjaiWineFestival.com.

Getting there is easy!  Take advantage of the free Ojai Wine Festival Shuttle sponsored by Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine Service that runs every 30 minutes and stops at four locations along the Ojai Trolley Route.  See our website for details, Or order a round trip shuttle ride from four convenient locations in Oxnard and Ventura.  Visit https://www.rrshuttle.com/reservation/ojaiwinefestival.aspx for details.

Best of all, you will have a fun afternoon and be supporting Rotary community and International service projects at the same time!   The Ojai Wine Festival is the fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Ojai West Foundation Inc., which has raised over $951,000.00 to help support the many Rotary Ojai West projects like supporting local schools, youth programs, food bank, CERT program, student exchange program and so much more.   This year, the Rotary Club of Ojai West Foundation is trying to raise money to furnish a shade sail for over the Libbey Park children’s play area.   Help us reach our million-dollar mark this year and buy a ticket to the Ojai Wine Festival.  Relax, unwind, have a good time and help out those who need it most.  It’s a great recipe for a remedy!
