CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

As you may have noticed, the new home of the Institute of Culinary Education (see photos below) will be located at the southeast corner of the Mentry Hall building. The building will house all of the kitchens ‐ instructional and teaching — that are needed, as well as seating for serving and other functions necessary for the program.

The Plumbing and Electrical contractors arrived on site early. They have located and placed all of the future utility lines.  Most of the water and lines are coming up through the fire lane that makes its way up behind the Mentry Building and over to the Student Support Center.

The compaction and grading is now complete.

The concrete contractor is on site and laying out the footprint of the building where the concrete footings will be located. Some of these footings have already been excavated!  We will continue to dig footings and begin the placement of the steel reinforcement during the remainder of the month. We will also tie in to the gas lines located in Lot 15.
