Rocca Family Vineyards is proud to be named the Napa Valley Organic Winery of The Year at the prestigious 2014 New York International Wine Competition.
“This award is especially meaningful to us,” says winemaker Paul Colantuoni, “as our organic farming practices speak to the very heart of our winemaking philosophy at Rocca. It all starts with the very best grape that Mother Nature can provide, then allowing that grape to speak for itself.”
Both of Rocca’s Napa estates – the Collinetta Vineyard in Coombsville and the Grigsby Vineyard in Yountville – are Certified Organic. Since 1999, the Rocca Family has been producing award-winning Cabernets, Merlot and Syrah from these vineyards, but it wasn’t until 2008 that Colantuoni began the organic program for the winery. This award follows six years of dedicated organic farming practices.
Rocca’s flagship wine, the 2010 Grigsby Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Yountville, also took a medal in the competition, and has already been awarded 93 Points by Wine Enthusiast and a Gold Medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
Rocca Family Vineyards is currently completing work on a gorgeous new tasting room at the south end of Napa Valley and also conducts tours of its Collinetta Vineyard in Coombsville. You can get more information on Rocca Family Vineyards by visiting www.roccawines.com.
