Vintners Terry and Pam Davis Donate Their Time and Wine

They also donated a tasting/dinner for 20, with food to be provided by Masraff’s, a premiere restaurant in Houston.

The Westside Homeless Partnership focuses on ending homelessness for families by providing them with resources that lead to self-sufficiency. The Davis family learned about the charity about four years ago. “A friend took us to a meeting and we were blown away. Eighty percent of the participants are able to get jobs once they are provided with certain resources, such as an apartment, food stamps, and help with completing a General Education Degree (GED),” said Terry Davis.

In 2014 the Davis family has raised about ,000 for numerous charities, by donating wine and wine dinners, seeking sponsors and volunteering.

Earlier this year, Pam Davis took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with her husband Terry and “called out” their Napa-based winemaker Wayne Donaldson and others to join them. The Davis family have been long-time supporters of charities in and around Houston and elsewhere. When their son was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 1980, Terry and Pam wanted to help raise money for research and created the idea for a celebrity winemaker’s fundraising dinner in Houston to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

These dinners and the encounters they had with winemakers and chefs eventually led them to the decision to found their own winery.

Frisson’s current releases include the 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2011 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc, and a 2012 Russian River Valley Dutton Ranch Chardonnay.

About Frisson Wines
For years, Pam and Terry Davis dreamed of becoming a part of the Napa Valley’s world of wine. They wanted to make wine from grapes that spoke strongly about place, with quality and pedigree, which the serious wine drinker could afford. They soon found themselves at home in Yountville, in the heart of Napa Valley, making world class Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The label they chose is “Frisson,” a French word that is hard to translate, yet perfectly describes this adventure they are on: a thrill that is stimulating, exciting, and a touch scary as they navigate this new road.
