Santa Clarita Valley’s newest neighborhood south-of-the border eatery, solita Tacos & Margaritas Valencia, recently raised $3,500 at its Grand Opening blowout celebration and fundraiser held on Thursday, February 5th, 2015 to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.
The solita Tacos & Margaritas Valencia Grand Opening soiree kicked-off with a ribbon-cutting and proclamation presentation hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce. Following the red carpet extravaganza, solita Executive Chef Deborah Schneider hosted guests to an evening of her signature custom wood-grilled menu items featuring bold flavors, imaginative dishes and traditional Mexican favorites. As guests of the Grand Opening noshed on the delectable treats being served throughout the evening, Beverage Director Colin Pflugradt and his team mixed up a variety of margaritas and other libations, with 100 percent of all proceeds donated directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley’s “It Just Takes One” campaign. “It Just Takes One” is a nationwide initiative that aims to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club to ensure that the doors to each Club remain open and accessible to all children, and that the Clubs are able to continue to provide education and career exploration, the arts, sports, recreation and fitness, character and leadership development, and healthy life choices to needy youth in the area.
“We are a community-driven company, and it was really important to find a cause that is not just important to us, but that is also important to the community,” says Co-Founder and Director of Operations Matt Baumayr.
“The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley helps more than 2,700 local kids per year in the community and we are very proud to support their mission,” explains Baumayr. “Our goal is to support our new community in a very real, meaningful way, and we are so appreciative of our new relationship with the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.”
