Once again our Santa Clarita’s community will come together to support the girls at Saint Monica Children’s Home in Nairobi, Kenya. Last year’s “That’s Amore” event was outstanding and this year’s “Let’s Fiesta” promises even more fun and festivities.
Headed by founder, Racquel (Rocky) Turner, Ann-Marie Bjorkman and a team of local supporters the forth-annual West Coast Calendar Event has the SCV community ready to eat, drink, and bid on amazing silent auction items.
The goal of the event is to provide all of Saint Monica’s’ needs for the year.
Mothers Fighting for Others is dedicated to the idea that nurturing and educating young girls is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty in third world countries. MFFO began by taking simple steps to insure that a small handful of girls at Saint Monica Children’s Home in Kenya, were given a chance to obtain a high school education. Almost nine years later, MFFO not only supports the educational needs of all 70+ children at the home, but their daily needs as well.
Chris Schauble of KTLA 5 News will be the MC, Alesia Humphries will be singing the National Anthem, and Custom Catering will serve an amazing tasty spread. This not-to-be-missed event starts at 6pm on Saturday, August 20th at the Bjorkman’s Residence. Prizes and donations are most appreciated.
