CHEF LUIS POUS OF LITTLE PALM RESORT ADDED TO WILSHIRE BENEFIT DINNER FOR DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS

WHO:  WILSHIRE RESTAURANT, Santa Monica and CHEF LUIS POUS of Little Palm Resort, Florida.

WHAT: WILSHIRE RESTAURANT announces that Chef Luis Pous of Little Palm Resort in Florida will join Executive Chef Andrew Kirchner for Sunday’s benefit dinner for Doctors Without Borders and has confirmed actor Paul Ben-Victor of “In Plain Sight,” “Entourage” and “The Wire” as the evening’s Emcee.

WILSHIRE restaurant is dedicating Sunday, January 31, 2010 to an evening of dining to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and their work to assist victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.
                              
Owner Dr. Steven Levine, Executive Chef Andrew Kirschner, General Manager Nick Fielding and the entire Wilshire staff are working in partnership for the benefit dinner.  The dining room and kitchen staff will generously contribute their time and forgo gratuities to produce the benefit dinner.  Additionally, the management has secured ample donations from their food and wine vendors to make 100% of the evening’s tally go to Doctors Without Borders in their efforts with Haiti’s earthquake victims.

Just added to the silent auction are a 2 Nights at Gamble Family Vineyards with private 4 BD guesthouse, 3 Night Stay at Little Palm Island in Florida, 1 Night at the Palomar Hotel, a pair of LA Laker tickets, Autographed Twilight memorabilia, Wilshire catered dinner for 10, Select DVD package from The Weinstein Company, LA Dodgers vs. SF Giants tickets (SF), and library wines from Bonaccorsi, Melville and Stonestreet, with many more items to come. The dinner, a collaboration of signature dishes by Andrew Kirschner and Luis Pous, will be served family style with group seating to encourage guest interaction.

The dinner is priced at $75 per guest; $110 with wine pairings, all-inclusive, with 100% of gross benefiting MSF’s efforts in Haiti.

WHY: WILSHIRE is a neighborhood restaurant long dedicated to giving back to the community. In light of the recent tragedy in Haiti, the staff was galvanized to take action and personally raise funds for the Haitian victims.
