Iconic Napa Valley Estate Returns to Local Hands with a Vision for Authenticity, Craftsmanship, and Community Connection
Napa Valley, CA – Newton Vineyard, one of Napa Valley’s most iconic mountain estates, is entering an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Napa locals, Nick Livanos and Eric Bryan Seuthe, along with their family and friends. After being part of the Moët Hennessy portfolio, Newton Vineyard is returning to local stewardship with a vision that reinforces a longstanding respect for the land. This transition in ownership marks the beginning of a thoughtful, grounded revival that honors Newton’s legacy while embracing a personal, approachable future.
For over 45 years, Newton has been celebrated for its exceptional wines, breathtaking views, and unique terroirs. Under the new ownership, the estate will evolve, merging its storied history with a fresh approach that is deeply rooted in community and the art of winemaking. The goal is clear: to craft wines that are exceptional in quality, but also accessible, offering an experience of luxury that everyone can enjoy.
“Newton has always been about the people and the place. Our focus is to create wines that are true to this land and connect with people in a real, meaningful way,” said Nick Livanos, co-owner of Newton. “We want to honor the estate’s incredible history while preparing the vineyard for a new era—one that is grounded and approachable. It’s about returning to the essence of what made Newton special from the beginning.”
A Return to Local Stewardship
Following the Glass Fire in 2020, Moët Hennessy took significant steps to protect and restore the estate, with major investments in vineyard redevelopment and fire protection. The vineyard is now poised for revival, with a current total of over 30 planted acres, and plans for more vines in the coming years.
While construction for a new tasting room and winery is planned for the future, the priority is producing estate-grown, organically certified red wines, with the first vintage expected from the 2025 harvest. This focus ensures that quality remains the cornerstone of the brand’s vision, connecting with wine lovers through personal engagement.
Affordable Luxury, Crafted with Care
The new owners are committed to reintroducing Newton with an emphasis on “affordable luxury” — high-quality wines that offer exceptional value. These wines are designed to feel both special and refined, yet accessible for everyday enjoyment. Newton’s wines will deliver a luxurious experience, creating wines that everyone can enjoy in both intimate settings and special celebrations.
The Future of Newton Vineyard
With 487 acres of land, including 70+ plantable acres, Newton is uniquely positioned to produce world-class wines that reflect the diverse terroir of Spring Mountain. The new owners plan to honor Newton’s legacy by continuing to focus on sustainable farming practices and thoughtful investments in the vineyard’s future.
“We want to build lasting relationships with our customers,” said Livanos. “It’s more than just selling wine; it’s about being part of the Napa Valley community and honoring the trust placed in us to continue Newton Vineyard’s legacy in a meaningful way.”
