Dear Eve,
As you know, I have recently accepted a new position in Santa Barbara County. I am very fortunate to have received 14 barrels of wine that I have been working on since harvest, 2008. My friends and family have been my biggest supporters all these years and I am forever grateful.
I have 14 barrels of 2008 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir scheduled to finish and bottle by the end of the summer at my new winery, Terravant Wine Company in Buellton, California. The capital required to bottle is substantial and I am offering a limited number of futures to only my friends and family.
The first option is to purchase six cases of Morello wine futures for $1000 to be released around Thanksgiving, 2009. Additional wine can be purchased for the same price of $13.89 per bottle as long as there is inventory after release.
The second option is to purchase one case of wine futures for $1000. After release, $1000 will be refunded to you within one year of the initial purchase.
I am offering 12 futures, unless there is enough interest to extend the offering to cover 2009 harvest costs for the upcoming vintage. You are welcome to share these with your friends.
Fall 2009 – New Releases
2008 Leona Valley Chardonnay $36 per bottle (retail)
Big voluptuous full-bodied Chardonnay with intense tropical fruits and sweet oak. Hints of mineral and butterscotch linger in the glass as you sip this Chardonnay. The high alcohol is completely masked by the overwhelming flavors and creaminess this Chardonnay has expressed for years. 140 cases made.
2008 Leona Valley Pinot Noir $36 per bottle (retail)
Concentrated dark fruit driven Pinot Noir that is rich and spicy, with medium-full body. An array of black cherry, flowers and wild berries that overwhelm the glass. 90 cases made.
2008 Cerro Prieto, Paso Robles Pinot Noir $36 per bottle (retail)
In a narrow canyon on the West Side of Paso Robles lies a small vineyard with very cool evenings that remain cool throughout the morning. The result is a perfectly balance Pinot Noir with notes of cherry, strawberry and spice box. Bright fruit and medium body, this wine is a beautiful example of dynamic diversity of Paso Robles. 90 cases made.
