Vinexpo Asia moves to Singapore in 2023

July 6, 2022 by evebushman

Vinexposium is changing the location of its flagship event in Asia-Pacific and has chosen the city-state of Singapore to host Vinexpo Asia starting in May 2023. The group intends to capitalise on the strengths of Vinexpo Hong Kong, which was held in Hong Kong for 20 years until 2018. With a new name echoing its broader scope, Vinexpo Asia is returning to the region to maximise its influence.

Vinexpo Asia will take place in Singapore from 23 to 25 May 2023 in the heart of the iconic Marina Bay Sands. The new venue has been chosen to perpetuate the event’s success and address the same region as the group’s previous event in Asia-Pacific, with the added appeal of Singapore as a growing business hub. Vinexpo Asia will focus entirely on wines and spirits and now becomes an annual event in the group’s portfolio.

Vinexpo Asia intends to play an influential role in the international arena starting in 2023, with attendance by 1,000 to 1,200 exhibitors from across the globe. Vinexposium is renewing its strong commitment to Asia-Pacific to secure its position as a key business platform in a region where wine and spirits imports are increasing. The latest research by the IWSR for Vinexposium forecasts an annual rate of overall growth of 1.5% by 2025 in Asia-Pacific, which is higher than the forecast for Europe, estimated at 1.4%.

“There is currently strong demand among our exhibitors to return to Asia in the best possible conditions. Singapore stands out as an obvious choice for serving the interests of the entire Asia-Pacific region and act as a magnet, not only for Chinese clients, but also Australians, South Koreans, Thais, Japanese and Vietnamese, to name a few”, comments Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

Two New International Events: Symposium and WOW! Meetings

April 19, 2022 by evebushman

After the success of Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris in February, and Vinexpo America and Drinks America in March – three events that marked the resumption of large-scale in-person events attracting trade members from across the globe – Vinexposium continues to forge ahead with preparations for new events in Bordeaux. From 20 to 23 June, Vinexposium will organize 2 new international events for wine and spirits professionals within the Bordeaux Wine Week: the Symposium « Act for Change » and the WOW! Meetings. Both events, which will comprise large panel discussions and business meetings, will provide the industry with practical solutions for short and medium-term changes to vineyard management and sales techniques.

From Thursday 16 to Sunday 26 June 2022, life in the city of Bordeaux will revolve around a broad-ranging raft of events with several highlights that will form the backbone of Bordeaux Wine Week: the Bordeaux Wine Festival, the Bordeaux Grands Crus Week-End, the ‘Picasso, the effervescence of shapes’ exhibition, the ‘Act for Change’ Symposium and the WOW! Meetings.

As part of this innovative schedule, Vinexposium will host two events focusing on the future of the industry for wine and spirits professionals.

The ‘Act for Change’ Symposium on 20 and 21 June at the Cité du vin.

The two-day event is set within a broader context and will question the role and commitment of the wine and spirits industry to the far-reaching agenda of the United Nations and COP 26.

A robust, engaging programme will allow experts and industry members to take the floor and decipher major developments to come and their impact on wine and spirits production and distribution by 2030.

The first day of the Symposium will focus on deciphering key forthcoming changes centring on 3 major aspects that will continue to have a decisive influence on the industry in years to come: changes in consumption and consumers; climate change; and geopolitical tensions. The second day will address the role of innovation in transforming vineyard and winery practices and the revolution in wine and spirits distribution in tomorrow’s world, based on the previous day’s conclusions. The main themes that will tackled will include:

  • Changing consumer patterns: what taste and story will appeal to consumers in 2030?Which back story on the label will capture the consumers’ interest in 2030? What production guarantees will they demand? Aroma and flavour profile, endorsements and packaging will all be criteria that need deciphering. Change is afoot and the first panel discussion – moderated by Jane Anson, founder of janeanson.com – will examine this multi-dimensional issue through the lens of the 2030 consumer.
  • What are the consequences of climate change for winegrowing?
From frost and drought to early harvests and small crops, winegrowers are on the front line of climate change. A plethora of specialist resources and consultants have emerged in recent years but what are the priorities and how can we help growers identify them and anticipate the future? This impactful theme, moderated by journalist Tamlyn Currin MW, will be discussed with a panel of stakeholders involved in research and noteworthy initiatives in the industry across the globe.
  • Production and agro-ecology: what innovations can we expect in the future?
buy strattera online buy strattera online generic

Responsible production is one of the priorities identified by the 2030 Agenda and has become a growing concern for many consumers. What changes should be incorporated into tomorrow’s viticulture, how can we help producers identify good practices and what role should the authorities play? This panel discussion will be moderated by consultant and author Rupert Joy and will bring together a panel of winegrowers from a number of French and international wine and spirits regions alongside experts in technological and digital innovation as well as political figures.
  • E-commerce or ultra-local: how will wine and spirits be distributed in 2030?
Globalisation, e-commerce, the rise in prices and decarbonisation of the supply chain, price transparency on the Internet, a plethora of information for the consumer… How can and should producers and marketers reinvent themselves to adapt to and benefit from current trends? This panel discussion, moderated by Drinks Business editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt, will round off the Symposium with a panel specialising in wine and spirits distribution and communications with tomorrow’s consumer.

The WOW! Meetings on 22 and 23 June at Hangar 14.

The production and consumption of certified wines is constantly growing. Vineyard area now covers more than 400,000 hectares worldwide, 78% of them located in Europe.

In response to this strong trend, Vinexposium will be hosting the first trade event entirely dedicated to environmentally certified wines and spirits in a rigorous B-to-B format.

100% business-focused, the event will welcome French and international buyers who plan to purchase certified wines and spirits (*) and have come to source new listings by producers and trading companies that work in this market segment. The aim is to support exponential development of the products worldwide.

Every effort will be made to promote quality relationships in a setting conducive to both business and conviviality, where a cap will intentionally be placed on the number of participants. Consequently, exhibitors will be selected based on stringent specifications and will be able to meet buyers who have confirmed their purchasing intentions prior to the event through a schedule of pre-arranged, qualified meetings.

Thanks to support from the Bordeaux city council, the Bordeaux conurbation authorities, the New Aquitaine regional council, the Bordeaux wine marketing council, the Cité du Vin and Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry, these two events will take place as part of BORDEAUX WINE WEEK.

(*) Due to the range of environmental schemes implemented internationally, the organisers will focus on taking into account certifications in each country for 4 types of farming: Sustainable (starting from level 2 certification); Organic; Biodynamic and Natural. Producers who would like to take part in the WOW! Meetings must systematically provide their certificates and conversion schemes.

By offering a comprehensive and inspiring range of products with a powerful international resonance, the Vinexposium group’s flagship event is reiterating its commitment to becoming THE global benchmark and a key date for trade members.

Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris will be the first major international event of 2022 and it marks the resumption of full-scale tastings. Highly awaited by the global wine and spirits industry for the variety of products on show and its business meetings, the event is now focusing on promoting attendance by key buyers, including those from outside the EU who are showing a strong interest in the exhibition.

Over three days, more than 2,800 exhibitors will convene in Paris to showcase their latest vintage, their flagship products and rare bottlings, all of them delicious pours to be shared with connoisseurs from around the globe. The event, which will cover four halls at the entrance to the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition centre (halls 3, 4, 5 and 6), will cater as much to the small winegrowers as to the major international brands. Household names such as François Lurton, Gérard Bertrand, E. Guigal, Maison M. Chapoutier, Domaine Paul Mas, Castel Frères, Maison Sichel, Bernard Magrez, Grands Chais de France and Gh Martel & Cie Champagne will be attending, alongside less prominent vineyards well worth discovering, such as the Aquitaine Independent Winegrowers and family-run properties like Vins Chevron Villette, Vignobles Vellas and Château Castigno, to name a few. Hall 5, set aside for international producers, will welcome wines of Luxembourg, Advantage Austria, Tenuta Lamborghini, Wines of Lebanon, Wines of Germany, Cesari, Carpineto, Consorzio Di Tutela Della Doc Prosecco, Consorzio Tutela del vino Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco, Gaja, J. Garcia Carrion, Viniportugal Wines Of Portugal, Hammeken Cellars and Flechas De Los Andes, for example.

Alongside wines in Hall 3, the Be Spirits by Vinexpo area and its huge Infinite bar will bring together spirits from all backgrounds, ranging from micro-distilleries through to well-known brands. Attendees will include the Armagnac marketing board BNIA, Calvados Château du Breuil, Cognac Lheraud, Distillerie Warenghem, Gin de Binche, Glasgow Whisky, La Martiniquaise, Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association and Distilleria Bertagnolli.

“Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris is above all an event that brings people together and creates a sense of community. People welcome their clients there from a wide range of backgrounds to give international exposure to local, innovative products, from the little treasures to the prominent growths. Paris will host a celebration in 2022 and we are very much looking forward to being reunited with everyone once again”, stresses Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

The group’s next event, the World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE), which now embraces all wine and spirits categories, is due to take place in Amsterdam on November 22 and 23. It brings together all strands of the bulk wine industry, a segment which now covers 34% of wine exports across the globe (source: OIV 2021). Vinexpo Shanghai, scheduled from 20 to 22 October, will not be running due to health restrictions in China which do not allow Vinexposium to guarantee a high-performance return on investment for its clients. The end of the year will be marked by the launch of Vinexpo India from 9 to 11 December in New Delhi, which will be held concurrently with SIAL India. Vinexpo India’s mission is to provide the spark for producers from around the world to establish relations with distributors and retailers in a high-potential growth market.

The event is set to mark the return of in-person events within the industry. The following month, the destination is North America with Vinexpo America and Drinks America slated for 9 and 10 March in New York. The two co-located events will bring together the entire beverage alcohol industry. Vinexpo America will be exclusively aimed at wines, whilst Drinks America, a new addition to the Vinexposium calendar, will focus on spirits and all beverage alcohol.

Spring

Vinexpo Hong Kong, the strategic platform for business in South-East Asia, will be held from 24 to 26 May at the HKCEC for a three-day event where meetings, discoveries and engagement with importers, distributors, sommeliers and international producers will set the tempo. Vinexpo Bordeaux rounds off the season in June, once again flying the international flag across the city in a renewed format combining off-beat encounters, trade meetings and industry-consumer prospective insight.

“We are delighted to be rolling out for the first time under the Vinexposium banner, an events calendar packed with marketing opportunities! Through our seven forthcoming events, our clients will finally be able to get back to the in-person events that are absolutely essential for tasting and conviviality. 2022 will most certainly be a celebration, honouring business and the world of wine and spirits”, comments Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

Vinexpo America and Drinks America Plan A Joint Debut In New York, March 9-10, 2022

May 23, 2021 by evebushman

Where the wine and spirits world meets in America: Vinexpo America and Drinks America plan a joint debut in New York, March 9-10, 2022

PORTLAND, Maine – Diversified Communications and Vinexposium has announced two co-located events—Vinexpo America and Drinks America—that will reunite the beverage alcohol industry in person, under one roof, in 2022.  The trade-only expos will be held March 9-10, 2022, in the new Hall 3 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Together, they promise to attract top buyers and decision makers from across North America, the largest and fast-growing beverage-alcohol-consuming market in the world.

Vinexpo America is a repositioning of the former Vinexpo New York, which for three years served as the premier international exhibition for wine and spirits professionals in North America before a 2021 pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In its new form, Vinexpo America will focus exclusively on wines, with representation from all of the world’s top-producing regions.

Drinks America is a brand-new expo created in response to a forecasted continuing rise in consumption of spirits and ready-to-drink beverages. It will feature a wide array of spirits, beer and sake from producers across the globe as well as beverage alcohol accessories and services.

Both events will provide U.S. and Canadian buyers access to new and established brands that are looking to expand distribution, network and meet with existing customers in North America. From conferences to master classes, two full days of educational programming will address issues relevant to both the wine and spirits worlds.

For attendees, Vinexpo America | Drinks America offers the advantage of one registration for full access to both shows’ exhibits, programming and events—a great value that also optimizes efficiency as they can meet with producers from around the world in one location over two days.

Exhibitors will benefit from visibility to all buyers, decision makers and influencers from both events, plus unlimited free guest invitations. A new business matchmaking service will facilitate one-to-one meetings during the two-day exhibition.

“We’re excited to renew our partnership with Vinexposium and come back to New York in 2022 with a brand-new, greatly enhanced offering,” said Mary Larkin, president of Diversified Communications USA. “Bringing together Vinexpo America and Drinks America in a single meeting place will enable us to serve the entire U.S. wine and spirits communities—an especially welcome opportunity after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the industry’s major exhibitions in 2021.”

“The launch of our events in the United States in 2022 is designed to coincide with the resumption of trade between Europe and the USA. Under a new name, Vinexpo America aims to embrace the entire North American market, alongside Drinks America. It has become crucial to offer our customers a comprehensive business platform that matches the scale of the American continent and includes spirits, craft drinks and beers alongside wine,” stresses Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

More information regarding the 2022 event will be announced in the coming months.

Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris postponed to 2022 and digitalized in 2021

April 27, 2021 by evebushman

The next physical edition of Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris will take place from 14 to 16 February 2022. The decision to postpone the exhibition, once again imposed by the health situation, was taken in conjunction with the event’s partner wine marketing boards. Stakeholders across-the-board agreed that due to continued uncertainties, the success of the event rescheduled for June could not be guaranteed, neither from an organisational perspective nor for its anticipated benefits for business. However, to continue to maintain the close connection between the Paris event and its exhibitors and visitors from around the globe, Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris will be providing an extensive programme of international content and tools for the wine industry next June on Vinexposium Connect, the group’s digital platform.

Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2022, an ambitious event highly anticipated by the entire industry

Partners, exhibitors and buyers continue to show a high level of involvement and support in the event, which many expect to be at the crux of post-pandemic recovery. Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris will once again draw its strength from the same unity, fuelling a surge in business dynamics at the first major international event of 2022 for the wine and spirits industry.

“We are very much looking forward to taking part in Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris, which genuinely energises business. After more than a year with no major international events, we need to get back to the tastings and gatherings that provide our product catalogues with new listings”, admits Jürgen Schlanke, managing director of the German distributor Weinmarkt Mattheis.

“We are both relieved and disappointed by the decision to postpone the exhibition. Relieved because we prioritise the health and safety of our staff and partners, but disappointed because Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris is an unmissable event for Rhonéa, a time when we meet all our customers to present our innovations and latest vintages for example… The pandemic may well have enabled us to create new ways of engaging with them – particularly through digital technology – but nothing can replace face-to-face contact and the friendliness of chatting about our wines. We look forward to seeing them in February 2022!” comments Pascal Duconget, CEO of Rhonéa.

Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2022 will gather all the French wine regions and a large number of international wine regions under one roof. The spirits industry will enjoy its own dedicated Be Spirits area. The event will also offer high-value solutions and content to maximise business opportunities and return on investment for attendees.

“Everything is ready for February 2022 and we are now going to focus on making Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris an even more central event and business hub so that it can be instrumental in fostering economic recovery. The first step will be a digital month in June with key business-centric events on Vinexposium Connect, and a physical gathering in Paris from 14 to 16 February 2022”, stresses Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris goes digital to support business and trade in 2021

Producers and buyers will be able to network from June onwards through B-to-B meetings via the Vinexposium Connect platform. A programme of business-focused digital content will be rolled out throughout June so that industry members can stay connected through highly targeted meetings.

Support from Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris’ partners across the spectrum has been galvanised so that they can share valuable insight with a broad-ranging audience: The IWSR, the International Sommelier Association (ASI), the French Sommelier Association (UDSF) and Wine Tech & Vinocamp.

Three days will focus specifically on regional and international issues for now and the future on 14, 15 and 16 June with the theme of ‘Bouncing Back’ at their core. Each day will address the questions being asked for now and the future, from the perspective of geopolitics, distribution networks and wine and spirits producers.

Men and women from the wine industry will be able to meet up again in Paris from 14 to 16 February 2022. But in the meantime, they can engage with each other on Vinexposium Connect in June, where everything will be designed to offer them maximum business opportunities.

THE PARISIAN VERSION OF ‘WORLD WINE MEETINGS’ BECOMES WOW! MEETINGS

August 24, 2020 by evebushman

World Wine Meetings Global, the business convention established in 1984, and the WOW! (World of Organic Wines) area, launched by Vinexpo in 2017, are joining together in response to steady growth in the global market for organic products. The result is the WOW! Meetings, two days of business meetings geared to the needs of the international organic community, which will take place on February 13 and 14, 2021, on the eve of Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2021.

High expectations for organic products in France and internationally
In a global market where production and consumption of organic and biodynamic wines are constantly on the increase, the WOW! Meetings will bring together supply and demand under one roof. This unique location will fulfil the needs of producers and an increasingly diversified array of buyers. Major international buyers and European supermarkets, but also wine merchants and restaurants will benefit from ad hoc business meetings.

The WOW! Meetings – super-targeted business meetings
Producers of organic or biodynamic wines, or those in the final switch-over year will all be represented and the range of products will be extended to include beers, ciders, bulk wines and organic alcohol-free wines. The organising team will roll out its expertise to ensure each participant benefits from first-rate conditions – the venue is specifically equipped for the event; attendees are given a special welcome; the meetings schedules are tailored to individual needs; and there are multiple opportunities for additional networking. The meetings will be planned ahead of the event between producers taking part and qualified buyers, whose buying programmes have been clearly identified.

An unprecedented, seminal event for wine in Paris in February
The positioning of the WOW! Meetings will be extremely attractive and will champion the meaningful values specific to the organic market. Attendance at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris by major international buyers, along with a strong local presence by supermarket buyers, wine merchants and specialist restaurateurs who form an exceptional, close-knit fabric of businesses in Paris, will be powerful attributes underpinning the success of the WOW! Meetings. This unprecedented synergy will transform Paris in February into a major international gathering for the entire wine industry.

“Our challenge is to meet the needs of the industry and to align as closely as possible with its expectations. The challenge surrounding organic products is such that we felt compelled to create this dedicated business event. Organic is no longer simply a trend, but a full-fledged industry driver. The Wow! Meetings will provide organic wines with a business meeting platform, on the eve of our major Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris exhibition”, points out Vinexpo CEO, Rodolphe Lameyse.

Organic wines will also be showcased as part of the WONDERFUL programme during Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris where producers will have stands and there will be opportunities to take the floor and host dedicated tastings. And the WOW! area will continue to form an integral part of Vinexpo events internationally.

The World Wine Meetings umbrella brand, which hosts business events worldwide, will continue to gain traction internationally and starting in 2022 will provide new events in markets with high potential for growth.
