I’m Yelping now. It wasn’t my idea. It was yet another link sent to me by a reader to “increase exposure”. I’ve become the “Drudge Report on Wine” per another reader that thinks that readers that send me links are a good thing. (Thoughts? More links?)

So I went to Yelp, filled in my profile and started writing in my spare time. Well…to be honest I wrote one short review of Agua Dulce Vineyards and copied and pasted parts of older reviews.
The older reviews for local restaurants though, are not like other Yelp reviews because mine are either from a wine pairing dinner or a wine event. So far.
I’ve got the catered holiday dinner from Route 66 Classic Grille and the Edward Sellers Winery pairing at Maru Sushi. Not really restaurant reviews, but, of course I think they serve a purpose.
How else would you know to go to a 4-course wine pairing dinner, let’s just say, this July 18 at the Oaks Grille in TPC, catered by Chef Daniel Otto, orchestrated and hosted by World Wine Education’s sommelier DiMaggio Washington, with the star and filmmaker, Rob Defoe, visiting SCV-for-the-first-time if I didn’t place a review on Yelp about these types of events?
I’d say more but…Yelp…I now have to go and put a wine event from TPC on Yelp. Let’s see, what should I put up: Valencia Wine Company’s ultra-huge annual Holiday Tasting or the pairing we had with Dampierre Champagne?
Give me a few minutes…or tell me which to do. Because I want to be “linked in”!
