Le Chene: Easter 2010 Brunch and Dinner

Le Chene is one of my all-time favorite restaurants.  They can make a soup out of lettuce, rich flavorful dressings blanket many dishes and buttery pureed vegetables accompany my plate just to put me over the edge.  Their wine list is comparable to none in Santa Clarita, and receives the Best of Award of Excellence year after year by Wine Spectator magazine.  And, I just got confirmation from Chef Juan Alonso on something I read on their website:

“We are a restaurant, the wine list is our working wine list. From time to time we may sell some of our wines. Since some of our prices are below retail value, we would like to reserve those for our customers. Please consider any order as a wish list. If we have enough, we will be glad to ship to you. If you are looking for specific vintages, we will be glad to try and locate them for you.”  Yes, you can buy wine at Le Chene but they’d rather you enjoy their wine at the restaurant…as “The prices are low enough that you can afford the gas to come to Le Chene.” http://www.lechene.com/wine-list
