I wanted Oaks Grille at TPC for my birthday dinner but they had a private event scheduled that night so I was out of luck…then…when I thought of Le Chene I felt silly as it’s really the pinnacle for winos with it’s Wine Spectator award wine list.
My friend Steve Lemley, co-owner of local Pulchella vineyards, told me to have Juan Alonso (owner) or restaurant manager Michel select our wine. It was a good thing to have their expertise.
And the food was incredible! Escargot, stuffed mushrooms, cream of celery soup, Filet Mignon drenched in Roquefort sauce, Tenderloin tri-tip with Bernaise sauce, then a b-day surprise dessert: Chocolate and Grand Marnier souffles. We had died and gone to heaven in France!

Sounds delicious Eve! Happy belated birthday. I hope your day was amazing.
Thanks Carrie! It was! Now, what about yours?
oh, big yum….the yams look marvelous and with (what wine?) I can smell all from here……and I am far away. Happy Birthday, (again)Eve!
Hi Sandra! Yes, the yams were just one more explosion to my gaping birthday-filled mouth! Thanks for reading and commenting friend!
