Wine and Spirits From Las Vegas to Los Angeles – An Update from Eve’s Wine 101

Most of our readers know that we bought a house in Las Vegas in 2020. What you may not know is that we sold our house in Los Angeles County in 2023 – when our fire insurance went from $4,700 a year to $17,000.

Now it’s 2025 and in these past five years I’ve gone to events in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas and continue to run press releases for both areas in this website. And if you are looking for events or news in either area everything is on this website.

What’s on the horizon in Las Vegas is here, for now:

Larger Las Vegas news and large events will be separate blog posts during the week.

What’s on the horizon in Los Angeles is still here:

Michael and Karen Perlis continue to be our “boots on the ground” wine writers in Los Angeles. They recently completed a wine tour in Sonoma and produced many articles. All of their news is here:

Since 2020 I have pulled back on the Los Angeles events and focused my personal coverage on the events in Las Vegas. I still have my annual wine visit to Napa and share our discoveries with you here. We have also traveled more globally in the last five years as well, and I’ve written about the wine we’ve discovered in Spain, France, Germany, and Portugal – I don’t expect that my travels will halt any time soon. Next up is a week in Santa Barbara with plenty of wineries and wine tasting rooms to visit there. We’re even planning a long overdue wine tasting and a meal at The Hitching Post!

Point is as my network grows more in Las Vegas I will probably have more news from here – here being home in Las Vegas – than anywhere else. Most people that are reading this website already know this – and most of them travel to Las Vegas. In fact, I just got a press release that began with this news:

While summer heat is in full swing in Las Vegas, you might’ve seen the city was just named the No. 1 Summer Destination in the U.S. by Tripadvisor

So, with that said, I hope to see more of my pals from California visiting Las Vegas this summer – or any season – and taking full advantage of all that our city offers. This is just a sample of what we have enjoyed so far:

  • Stellar service when dining out.
  • A wide range of high-end and ethnic dining experiences from Bulgarian and Greek to Italian and Indian to Sushi and Steakhouses…and more.
  • We will travel five to 30 minutes for unique restaurants our friends have told us about, or I’ve learned about via social media, and via invitations from press agents.
  • Unbelievable bar programs that blow us away with smoked cocktails, wine flights, winery tastings, whisky tastings, spiked milkshakes, tiki drinks, and more.
  • Exciting and unique entertainment that goes well beyond the strip.
  • Food and wine events, elite whisky events, two whisky clubs, and cocktail events that rival any found in Los Angeles.

Follow us in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, we hope to continue to be your source for wine and spirit news.
