Vine 2 Wine Classic Announced for 2013

The Vine 2 Wine Classic, the rebirth of the Santa Clarita Valley Wine Classic, and which combines the former Vine 2 Wine event, will be held on Saturday evening, August 17, from 6:30 — 10:00 p.m., in the City of Santa Clarita’s Activities Center, where it was held last year.

The single admission price of $75 in advance, ($95 at the door, if tickets are still available), will entitle everyone to unlimited tastings of hundreds of outstanding wines poured by about 50 wineries, as well as dozens of our famous library wines (as well as a terrific selection of excellent brews, served in our Beer Garden), our gourmet buffet dinner, live music, souvenir crystal wine glasses, etc. We’ll also be featuring outstanding wines and gifts in our silent auction, and much more.

Discounted tickets will soon be available for designated drivers.  We’ll also have a table of terrific non-alcoholic beverages.

We’re also featuring a limited number of tastes of a very rare and amazing 1853 Port — ‘Withwham’s Reserve King Pedro V Millennium Port’, in cask for almost 150 years, and bottled in 2001. Tastes of this beauty will be available to the first 30 lucky people who donate their extra $100 to the Circle of Hope for the opportunity. (This Port is every bit as wonderful as was last year’s 1863 Madeira!) Tastes would make memorable gifts to wine lovers in your parties.

Wineries interested in marketing their wines at this event should contact Jeff Jacobson, Director of Wine, at There’s no charge for wineries to pour and market their wines to our upscale crowd, where we will be licensed for you to take orders for the sales of your wines. We expect to attract more than 700 people.

Wine-knowledgeable “volunteer” pourers are also needed. They will be pouring wines at designated tables during half the event and free to enjoy the other half of the event. Pourers’ tickets will cost half price ($37.50) after Jeff screens them for their wine knowledge. People interested in pouring wine should email Jeff with their qualifications.

The Circle of Hope is a Santa Clarita Valley charity which has assisted local uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients and their families, with financial, emotional and educational support, since 2004.
