A new-to-me and fun item I discovered at the recent Bar and Restaurant Expo were the Swizzle Stirrers from Roses Brands. Made of up different colored rock candy, attached to a stick, they can sweeten, flavor, add color to, and/or garnish any cocktail you dream up.
Colors and flavors (names of which include the color and then names the flavor) include their white natural, red strawberry, pink Maraschino cherry, orange orange, yellow lemon, green lime, lime green watermelon, light blue cotton candy, blue raspberry, purple Concord grape and amber natural.
They also make loose rock candy, in both a clear and a colored version, that you can use at the base of your cocktail to add drama and color. They looked really cool at the bar show, hardly melting at all. Find those here under the heading Crystals.
If you check out their website you will find all of their confections for the bar or for sugar lovers in your home:
- Barista Stirrers
- Buttery Mints
- Cloud Mints
- Crystal Strings
- Crystal Wands
- Crystals
- Dads® Root Beer Candy
- FlavorBarrels™
- FlavorDrops™
- FlavorPops™
- Gourmet Chocolate Mints
- Swizzle Stirrers®
- Worlds Largest Crystal Wand
- ZERO SUGAR
There is also a SweetTips section on the website to help you create candy buffets and cake decorations, both of which I could picture at very cool cocktail or wine events.
About
Thomas D. Richardson had a vision for a new kind of American confection. He worked hard to perfect the recipe for his signature pillow soft sugar mints and began selling them at the counter of a Philadelphia department store in 1893. He was delighted when customers couldn’t get enough of his mints’ unique melt-in-your-mouth texture and smooth peppermint flavor. Richardson’s soft sugar mints are still loved by sweet tooths of all ages. His passion for artisanal confection and love of innovation lives on as we here at Roses Brands continue to grow his legacy and craft delicious moments in his memory.
