McPrice Myers Wines Unveils New Tasting Room in Adelaida District of Paso Robles

Building from a foundation of hard work, land stewardship and sustainability, McPrice Myers Wines leaps into the next generation with a tasting room that reflects the brand’s roots and aspirations.

Paso Robles, Calif., McPrice Myers Wines is thrilled to welcome guests inside its recently completed tasting room – a thoughtfully designed space that blends sustainability, style and soul – translating the heart of the brand into a new and welcoming location in the Paso Robles Adelaida District AVA.

Just like founder McPrice “Mac” Myers’ winemaking style, the tasting room emanates the same low key, yet high quality approach that permeates throughout the entire McPrice Myers Wines brand, since its inception.

Hard Work and Humble Beginnings

McPrice “Mac” Myers launched the brand back in 2002. Mostly self-taught, a former baseball player turned wine geek, Mac was a quick study and alongside other fledgling, but soon to be iconic brands, saw Paso through its golden age and into the modern era. Shepherded by his quiet tenacity and pioneering spirit over the years, supported by intense innovation from Associate Winemaker Adrian Perez, the McPrice brand has now built a reputation for producing highly acclaimed, bold, yet balanced wines reflective of the vineyard soils and microclimates, offering a diverse portfolio featuring Rhône and Bordeaux varietals.

In 2014, Mac established the Estate Winery in Paso Robles’ Adelaida District AVA. And in 2015, a transformative tasting room visit introduced Venus Lai to Mac. Venus, an accomplished biotech scientist with a love of fermentation, was dazzled by Mac’s wines. She became a wine club member and two years later, her love of the brand transformed into a partnership. Together, Mac & Venus purchased the 84-acre Adelaida District property, expanding the estate vineyards, and modernizing the sophisticated Hilltop House, a guesthouse overlooking the property. And now, with the opening of the Estate Tasting Room, a key component of their early vision for the property has been realized.

The New Tasting Room

Open in June 2025, the new tasting room aims to showcase the winery’s deep commitment to elite winemaking, sustainability, and, of course, the guest experience. Within this new space, McPrice Myers Wines delivers an unforgettable, inviting tasting experience, whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or a casual sipper.

“I’m incredibly excited to welcome guests to our new tasting room.” said McPrice Myers, Founder and Winemaker. “We wanted to build a place where people can slow down, enjoy the beauty of Paso, and connect with the wines we work so hard to craft. This new space brings that vision to life.”

The new tasting room honors the McPrice Myers Wines’ philosophy of leaving the site better than it was found. The building complex incorporates repurposed shipping containers with colors matched perfectly to McPrice’s signature orange and green labels. The sturdy, reused containers cast an unpretentious, yet striking composition against Paso’s rolling hills. Solar power and EV charging stations are featured on the grounds. Outside, 150-year-old oak trees provide natural shade on the patio, and native plants augment the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The space is designed to feel intimate – inviting guests to linger, from the open-air patio with hand-picked, vineyard views, to the sleek indoor space and tasting bar – made with McPrice’s own oak barrels. With refined luxury in mind, Liz Gillingham, McPrice’s incomparable Director of Business Operations, and co-owner Venus prioritized crafting upscale facilities to exist in harmony with the warm atmosphere. Liz describes how the new space already feels like home:

“It’s right on brand – classic, elegant, approachable. Just like Mac and his vibe. We’ve got the steel exterior, the leather furniture, the containers – it’s all iconic and yet familiar. Graceful and powerful.”

Current Offerings and What’s Still to Come

Looking ahead, the tasting room can accommodate both indoor and outdoor tasting experiences, with a seating capacity of 26 indoors with additional standing room at the bar for 20 patrons. Outside the patio accommodates up to 60 people and there is room for an additional 40 people with outdoor bottle service in the meadow area. The outdoor patio also acts as a pet friendly retreat (complete with a McPrice welcome bandana for your pup). Reservations are available online, but walk-ins are also welcome. Specially curated tastings will be offered by request and prioritized to Club Members. These may include barrel tastings with Mac and Adrian, library tastings, tastings by appellation, vertical tastings, and curated educational experiences tailored to the guest.

Still on the horizon, the McPrice Myers Wines Tasting Room will also offer an exclusive, elevated private group tasting experience in a brand-new hilltop structure. Watch for local promotions and a running schedule of events, like live music and member parties, found on the online events page. With harvest soon underway, it’s an ideal time to visit Paso Robles Wine County.

A Toast to the Journey

“This isn’t just a building – It represents years of hard work and commitment,” said Venus Lai, co-owner. “Please join us in this beautiful new space – created as the perfect backdrop to enjoy Mac’s incredible wines and share in the journey we’ve built together. Cheers!”
