Hirsch Seminar at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant

Jasmine Hirsch and our new winemaker Ross Cobb will lead a special seminar on Hirsch Vineyards addressing the question: What makes Hirsch “Hirsch”? We will taste three flights of wines, starting with three wines from the 2008 vintage. This will be followed by a special tasting of four single block barrel samples from the 2007 vintage with a discussion on how differences in clones, vine age and soil effect the expression of pinot noir at the Hirsch site. Finally, we will taste a horizontal of four wines from the highly lauded 2007 vintage, including three wines from our fruit customers (Littorai, Failla and Kosuge) and our flagship estate pinot noir, the San Andreas. The seminar is hosted by Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant and will be held in the Port Commission Hearing Room (upstairs in the Ferry Building). The seminar begins promptly at 6:30 pm and the price per person is $55. Reservations and prepayment are required, and space is limited.
