Wine Tasting at Salt Creek to benefit the Boys & Girls Club

Local friends Terry and Carl Kanowsky are hosting another Wine Tasting at Salt Creek to benefit the Boys & Girls Club on Thursday, August 23rd, at 6:30.

The featured winery is Talley, based in Arroyo Grande.

Robert Parker describes Talley as a “winery dedicated to classy, elegant, long-lived Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.”  Parker recently devoted a full day to doing a vertical tasting of Talley’s Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Rosemary’s Vineyard.  You can read his report at http://www.talleyvineyards.com/assets/client/File/Reviews/Vertical%20Review%202011%20Robert%20Parker%20full.pdf.  And, according to Parker, Talley is not a one-hit-wonder with Rosemary’s Vineyard.  “ They also produce world-class, high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Rincon Vineyard and own several other promising sites such as the Stone Corral and Oliver’s vineyards.”

Leading us in tasting some of these “world-class” offerings will be Talley’s Winemaker, Eric Johnson.  Eric is a young and lively fan of all things Talley so he should provide us with an enjoyable and illuminating evening.

Tickets are just $75, with all proceeds going to the Club.  Reserve by calling Ronda at the Club at (661) 254-3063 to buy tickets – $75/person; $90 at the door.
