July 12, 2013 (Paso Robles, CA) – Harvest Wine Weekend in Paso Robles Wine Country is the ideal time for locals and visitors alike to join vintners as they take a break during their busy season to celebrate the beginning of the new vintage. Harvest Wine Weekend 2013 will take place October 18 – 20, with more than 130 Paso Robles wineries inviting wine lovers to their tasting rooms, vineyards and wineries for tours, special tastings, live music, winemaker dinners and much more. Wine enthusiasts are invited to create their perfect wine country weekend during Harvest, the most exciting and picturesque time of year in Paso Robles.

header_hww2012Many wineries are getting creative in 2013, bringing new and different activities, educational opportunities and hands-on fun for Harvest Wine Weekend. A few highlights include blending seminars, chocolate and wine pairings, folk dancing, wine and pie pairings, “Harvest Games,” sangria-making lessons, a lobster feed and wine scent profiling, to name a few.

“Harvest Wine Weekend is a welcome respite in the long days of fall to celebrate the new vintage,” said Paul Hoover, grower and winemaker of Still Waters Vineyards. “Harvest is that one time of year when wine country is most alive with activity and a perfect time for guests to enjoy the fruits of our labor.”

Visit the winery activities link on pasowine.com and search by winery, day or activity to see what is happening throughout the weekend at participating wineries. Harvest Wine Weekend does not require a ticket, however some of the wineries may require RSVP’s or have fees associated with their individual events, so be sure to plan ahead. Designate a driver, or visit the touring section of pasowine.com to find a touring company in Paso Robles Wine Country. Also, lodging accommodations of all types are available – hotels, bed & breakfasts, vacation rentals, etc. – book early as they will fill up fast. Beginning Monday, August 26, wine enthusiasts are encouraged to request a complimentary Paso Robles Harvest Wine Weekend brochure which details all the happenings.
