PIERO SELVAGGIO AND BENVENUTO BRUNELLO ANNOUNCE A CELEBRATORY “LECCIO D’ORO” DINNER AT VALENTINO ON 2/20/15

On Friday, February 20, 2015, Piero Selvaggio and the Consortium of the Brunello of Montalcino Wine celebrates the only “Leccio d’Oro” Gala Dinner on the west coast. As one of 30 restaurants worldwide, VALENTINO will host a tasting dinner designed by Selvaggio and Chef Luciano Pellegrini, the long-time chef of VALENTINO Santa Monica and Las Vegas. The dinner will showcase the stellar Brunello wines with a special tasting of the greatest recent vintage, 2010 BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, Italian cuisine and the legacy and tradition of the most celebrated Italian Restaurant outside of Italy of the last century.           

The Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino awards the LECCIO GOLD each year to a restaurant that has a wine list with a wide presence of Brunello di Montalcino and other wines of Montalcino.

VALENTINO was one of the first restaurants to receive this prestigious award in 1995 and the first outside of Italy.

The dinner is priced at $125 per guest and includes the menu and all Brunello wine pairings provided by the Consortium as well as a tasting of the internationally acclaimed 2010 Brunello vintage Optional wines may be ordered from VALENTINO’s legendary cellar at discounted pricing.

Piero Selvaggio invites guests to bring a bottle of Brunello from their own collection for complimentary corkage to taste and compare to the 2010 vintage and the Brunello included with the dinner.
