Pourtal Wine Tasting Bar Celebrates the Hidden Gems of Malibu’s Burgeoning Wine Region

“MADE IN MALIBU”

WHAT:
Pourtal, Santa Monica’s beachside wine tasting bar, presents “Made in Malibu,” a new wine tour and tasting series that explores Malibu’s budding wine region, or American Viticultural Area (AVA), and the talented winemakers behind the labels. “This is a great opportunity for us to spotlight some of our favorite California wines—all of which are produced right in L.A.’s backyard,” says Pourtal owner Stephen Abronson.

The exclusive wine tasting tour will feature a flight of nine wines crafted solely from grapes grown in the Malibu AVA, and will be available by the taste through Pourtal’s Enomatic machines for the month of January. Each wine is priced per 1 oz. pour, and guests are welcome to sample at their own pace. Two additional Malibu wines will be available on Pourtal’s extensive by-the-glass list.

The tour debuts on Wednesday, Jan. 6 with a “Made in Malibu” launch party honoring the winemakers. Representatives from each of the featured wineries will be on hand that evening to discuss their wines as well as hand-pour an additional wine, and Pourtal will provide free passed appetizers for guests.

Throughout the month, Pourtal will also host select Malibu wineries for a special hand-poured tasting series. Each winemaker will present several off-the-list wines to taste, as well as have a few bottles available for retail. The tasting is free to guests with the purchase of a $15 Pourtal tasting card.
