Covering the Winter Fancy Food Show For The First Time!

Thrilled, yes thrilled, to cover the Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas for the first time last month. It was one of the largest shows we’ve ever covered. So big that we had to take a day off in between the three days offered to us! Day one I got a little more than half of the convention floor covered, and on the last day I did the rest. Even had time to revisit some of our favorites.

Of interest to me, and to what I thought our readers might enjoy learning about, were all of the syrups, mixers, and wine/spirit-based foods. My first thought was wow, so much here that would make an amazing board for grazing including many new-to-me cured meats, cheeses, seasoned nuts, crackers, peppery jams, honey, stuffed olives, and pickles! All photos showing some of these can be seen from the first day here and the last day here. My social media below will show you, a bit more in depth, of the specific brands we enjoyed and all that we sampled.

We can’t wait to cover more next year, maybe make it all three days!

Social Media First Day

What would you go for here, from our first day at the Fancy Food Show: the cocktail infusion jars by McKinnon’s Dry Craft Cocktails, drinks biscuits for all kinds of wine/spirit pairings from The Drinks Bakery, Wine Sticks and Bourbon Buddies – that you dip right into your drink – from The Sweetery, bourbon-infused cakes from Tortuga Rum Cakes, or a maple syrup from Noble Handcrafted that is bourbon barrel matured and would be perfect instead of sugar in an Old Fashioned? More shout-outs to all of the outstanding booths sharing fine cheeses, meats, desserts, olives, bacon, jellies, sauces, spices, drink mixers, Sake, and crackers – from all over the world including Japan, Italy, Spain, China, France, Greece, Canada and Morocco! We still have more ground to cover, so stay tuned!

Social Media Last Day

One last time I’m asking, what would you go for here from yesterday’s final day of the Fancy Food Show? I found THE best bourbon barrel matured maple syrup for my next Old Fashioned from Noble Handcrafted, lots of tasty mixers for your cocktails, green teas for the morning after, Shafts Cheese & Co Cheddar Jalapeno olives for your Bloody Mary and Blue Cheese stuffed olives for your Martinis, the “Aperitivo Italiano” menu from the Italy section of the show, and then the gorgeous lineup of Italian spirits – including that Vecchio Amaro del Capo I’ll be having tonight!
