Wine Water, or Has Someone Else Turned Water into Wine?

I usually stick to wine and spirits for review, rarely dipping my toe in the low and non-alcohol pool of drink choices. But, to change things up, and because a product piqued my interest, we have something new to review today: Wine Water. It is sparkling water blended with wine with no added sugar, vegan, low sulfites, non-gmo and gluten free. I will share my tasting notes on the flavors I sampled (from a wine glass and not the cans they came in) followed by more information I found on their website.

Boutique Wine Water Sauvignon Blanc

Tech sheet: notes of exotic fruit, pineapple, and mango.

EB: My wine glass was rimmed with tiny bubbles at first pour, with a few racing from the bottom to the top. At first nosing I got salted pretzels and buttered popcorn…weird…in a few minutes some of that blew off. Then came ripe apple, jasmine incense, and stainless steel. On the mouth I noted toasted bread, a light apple, fruit cocktail in water, and a medium finish due to the acidity. (I did try a second can and got the same results on the nose.)

Boutique Rose Water

Tech sheet: Dry Rose wine expressing red, exotic fruit and bright acidity balanced by effervescence.

EB: Fresh! That’s the first thing I thought on both the aroma and flavor. Going back, and focusing just on the nose, it made me think of Rainier cherries, limeade, and cool wet stones. The taste was light, still got the cherry and lime, as well as lemon and orange. The finish is short and not too sweet at all, I enjoyed the acidity and I found the wine to be highly quaffable!

Conclusion: I think having a Wine Water at 5 pm alone would be a perfect gateway to a full wine at 6 pm with dinner, as the Wine Water is low in alcohol so you can do both!

From the website:
