Perlises Pick: Upcoming Historic Vineyard Society event Saturday May 4, 2024

We’ve been supporters of the Historic Vineyard Society (www.historicvineyardsociety.org) for a long time. The work they do preserving and cataloging California’s old vine plantings provides an important service to our state’s heritage, especially when so many of these vineyards end up being replaced by more profitable grape varieties or become victims of real estate development.

You can support the HVS cause and not even be a member, although they’d love to have you. You can buy wine made from these old vineyards as well as attend events put on by the organization.

We recently received an email about an upcoming event:

You are invited to taste an incredible lineup from California’s Oldest Vineyards!

Michael and Karen Perlis have been pursuing their passion for wine for more than 30 years. They have had the good fortune of having numerous mentors to show them the way and after a couple of decades of learning about wine, attending events, visiting wineries and vineyards, and tasting as much wine as they possibly could, they had the amazing luck to meet Eve Bushman. Michael and Karen do their best to bring as much information as possible about wine to Eve’s Wine 101 faithful readers.
